Reflecting on the clavichord, a 14th-century European precursor to the piano, Uchida suggests that behind the instrument lies a history of people seeking to connect with the invisible through prayer. The theme of this work is "Moj," the Persian word for "wave." By leaning into the exquisitely faint sounds born from the micro-vibrations of the strings, our ears are opened to a natural resonance that transcends literal meaning.

This two-disc album features seven piano-focused tracks on Disc 1, while Disc 2 presents five tracks where the clavichord melts into environmental field recordings. Across all twelve tracks, Uchida maps the particles of sound emitted by the instrument as an "object" and the breathing of the space that surrounds it. His meticulous ear as a tuner and his reverence for wood as a maker elevate these melodies into something beyond music—they become a "phenomenon."
