"The Meeting of Two Eyes"
Norimasa Harada continuously explores the concept of "time" through photography. By thoroughly photographing the recording medium itself, Harada has attempted to capture the very time in which the objects before him are in contact.
This exhibition traces the trajectory of the photographer's thoughts on records and time, featuring his "Study Piece" series, "The Meeting of Two Eyes," which he has been working on in recent years. This series combines photographs of different times, places, and subjects into a single image.
The works are museum prints, ensuring high fidelity to the original data and durability for long-term display. In addition, you will also see works with mounting, a first for Harada.
The flapping of birds, the comings and goings of the city, the waxing and waning of the moon. Mental images are inextricably linked to objects, yet they never return to the objects themselves. The photographer attempts to manifest these mental images by superimposing the camera, a device that captures light, with an observing gaze.
"The Meeting of Two Eyes" – when two eyes connect fragments of photographs in multiple layers, a "generic" time emerges that transcends individual moments.

Harada Kazumasa
Born in Tokyo in 1992, Harada Kazumasa studied under Hiroshi Yamazaki and began his career as a photographer while still a student at Musashino Art University. By treating all subjects—landscapes, people, still lifes—as equally significant, he aims to eliminate sentimentality and, by thoroughly pursuing photography's function as a recording medium, to manifest the language and time inherent within it. From September 2025, he will be based in Berlin.
